Achieving my writing goal

Ruby has been working really hard on her writing goal.  She has been reading her stories out loud and checking that what she has written makes sense.

She has achieved her goal and is now ready to move onto a new goal.

Ruby has chosen her new writing goal and is now going to try and write down all the sounds she can hear in words in order.

Keep being a fabulous author, Ruby!

Teddy Bear's Picnic

For the past two weeks Ruby's literacy group has been reading and writing and learning about bears.  Not only real bears such as panda or grizzly bears but also bears we love and have at home such as our teddy bears.

We all decided we would love to take our teddy bears on a teddy bear picnic at school.  Sadly it was raining but we still had fun with a picnic inside.
The teddies watched us do our writing.  I am sure they were impressed with our rhyming words.

We read our book 'Mother Bear's Scarf' to our teddies.  What a fun picnic.  We hope to do this again!

Achieving my writing goal

Well done Ruby.  You are carefully listening to the first sound in each word and writing it confidently down.  You can even hear more than one letter in  most of  your words.

Pizza Sharing

In Maths, we have been learning what the word 'equal' means and how to share equally. Our teacher gave us a pizza that had been cut into halves or quarters. We had to pretend to be a pizza chef and make pizza toppings with play dough. We then had to share the toppings equally on to each piece of the pizza.

Achieving My Maths Goal

Today, Ruby achieved her Maths Goal of recognising and ordering numbers to 20.

Ruby was excited to choose her next goal and decided that her next goal will be learning the 'ten and facts' , e.g. 10 + 3 = ?, 10 + 6 = ?

Great learning Ruby!

Writing Workshop

Ruby's current writing goal is to use her resource card when she is writing her stories.  Today in our writing workshop we practised our goal.  First we read the words on the word card.  We then took turns calling out a word from the card then we all wrote it down on our whiteboard.  The tricky part was thinking of a sentence using our word.
